Beauty and the Beast and an exciting Blog Update!

Hello!

Well, nothing really funny happened painting my kitchen.  It took forever and I have a new appreciation for the folks that I design kitchens.  The mess, oh the mess!  There just isn't any way around it.   Basically, knowing a mess is involved is what keeps me from doing many DIY projects.  I am OCD on a certain level,  just not enough to keep my house immaculate (but usually tidy.)  We will not discuss my basement however...

The kids and I took one day off and went to our local casino to donate money.  They'd never been before and I'd never been to the buffet.  It was okay, but they didn't have any beef at lunch!  I was told they had great prime rib...but after getting there found out only at night.

We had fun anyway and it was great to just hang out with my children who grew up so fast.  Can't believe Audra is 24 and Taylor is 21!

I also discovered a way to put affiliate links on this page.  I will only place ones that I have used and/or checked out personally.  If you are going to shop online anyway, I would greatly appreciate you clicking on the links on the right and entering the store this way as I receive a small commission whenever someone does this at no cost to you whatsoever!  Every little bit helps me and I would be very grateful!!!  I will also post when they have special offers whenever possible and review one from time to time.  I really don't know exactly how this works yet, but one doesn't know until one tries.

and now "The Beast" review...

Audra and I enjoyed a matinee in Bellefontaine, Ohio because it is cheaper, an easier drive at rush hour and less crowded (there were only 6 of us at this 3:45 p.m. showing) then the theater we normally go to in Dublin.  However, the Dublin one has reclining chairs...which I dearly missed. This non-animated version follows the story, but adds a few things (mostly time) along the way.

I haven't been to the movies in awhile. When did they start adding commercial advertising to the previews??? Really annoying to say the least!  I was about asleep before the movie even started.  As for the movie, you can tell Disney spent big bucks on it.  The scenery, production numbers and costumes are over the top. Josh Gad as LeFou is one of the bright spots.  Emma Watson as Belle is lovely, but it looks like she isn't really singing---all of the musical numbers seem a hair out of sync with the tiniest of delays---but maybe I was imagining it.

All in all I'd say it was good, but not great.  If you have young folks to entertain, they will likely enjoy it.

That's it for now.  Have a great weekend!

Gale
